Just a quick post from me today to let you know that the Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival is taking place this weekend in Millennium Square, so if you haven’t been yet – there’s still time to go get some tasty grub tomorrow!

I didn’t actually plan on going on Friday, but I walk past Millennium Square on my way home from work and couldn’t resist all the amazing smells coming from the festival. A quick phone call to James and we ended up spending two hours sampling the yummy food and drinks from various stalls.

There’s something for everyone – greek wraps, burgers, hot dogs, fresh veg, ice-cream, olives, turkish delight, steak baguettes, thai noodles, pies, cider, beer, gin, rum, cocktails… and there are also cookery demonstrations (which might interest those of you who, unlike me, do actually enjoy being in the kitchen.)

Food and drink festival

I was pretty gutted as I’d been eyeing up the giant cookies for pudding, but by the time we got round to desserts, the guy had gone! (Luckily we managed to make a detour through Trinity on the way back to the train station where I bought some warm cookie dough and ice-cream to satisfy my sugar cravings.)

It’s free entry for the festival, which is always good, but be prepared for how busy it will be. Particularly if the weather’s as lovely and hot as it’s forecast to be!
